- Celebrated on/during: January
-
Significance:
It is one of the major festivals celebrated in the District besides other festivals. Khaozaosey-hok-ah is derived from the “Khaozao” meaning “Bamboo Cup with a Straw pipe”, “Sey” means a brew of local wine and Hok means “Leg and “Ah” refers to Rest. Thus the festival is all about rest and celebration with a local brew. The celebration is followed by traditional dances by both men and women.
